A Year in Review: 2017

The Harvest Club is on its way out of the office to celebrate the season with family. But before we go, we wanted to wish all our Harvesters, Growers, and supporters Happy Holidays! As a thank you gift, we thought we would share our annual progress report with all of you.

In 2017, 422 volunteers donated over 1,550 hours of their time to help us pick 76,000 pounds of fresh produce! This year, your hard work provided 195,300 servings of fresh produce to 70 different food distribution agencies in Orange County.

This year was an important indicator to us that we can maintain the record breaking highs of 2016. Although we ultimately picked 6,000 pounds less this year, we added properties and did more harvests then we ever have before. We expect to grow even more next year, eclipsing all our records, but we can’t do that without your help! We are in desperate need of Harvest Captains to help us keep up with the expected bounty. Thank you again to everyone that supports this program. Your dedication and thoughtfulness are the greatest gifts of all this season! From all of us here at the Harvest Club and OC Food Access Coalition, have a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
